Last spring there was a poll of Culpeper customers, including those with 937 exchange numbers to see if they were willing to pay more to call Warrenton numbers. This proposal did not pass at that time. Although those responding to the poll overwhelmingly supported the expanded calling area, only 45 percent responded. More than 50 percent responses are required for such an expansion.
However, this new proposed expansion for Culpeper customers does not require that customers approve, only that significant numbers do not object, Mr. Brown explained.
