Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Helen W. West of Boston; a daughter, Myrna L. Brooks of Boston and a son, James A. Hopkins of Washington State.
Additional survivors include three brothers, Ralph E. West of Holden, Mo., Michael L. West of Missouri City, Mo. and Buddy L. West of Liberty, Mo. and three grandsons.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 13 at Found & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
Interment with military honors was held at the Culpeper National Cemetery.

Alice Mayo Wigenton Edwards died Sunday, May 15 in Manassas.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Bethel Baptist Church in Amissville by Rev. Forrest Freeman.
Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery at Mt. Moriah Church on Poe’s Road in Amissville.
Mrs. Edwards was bom April 15, 1906, in Amissville, daughter of the late George and Catherine Brown Wigenton, the wife of the late Kelly Edwards. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
