at the time they were presented and I choose to ignore them now. I believe that responding to such statements gives them credibility that they do not deserve. I further believe that in time truth will win out over what is false.
With the completion of the campaign, I had hoped that the election shenanigans would end. There are indications, however, that they have not. This is both sad and disturbing. The Town cannot afford the continuation of animosity. Government Cannot be effective in such an atmosphere. The Town does not need its energy put into vendettas and payback for perceived abuses. We have better things to do. It is time for forgiveness. This is the time to move
It is my hope that both the citizens of Washington and the Rappahannock News will support a better spirit.
The past Town Councils have accomplished a great deal. I would like to build on those accomplishments. Dean Morehouse once told me that when he became mayor, he was only provided a small box of materials. Of course, he also had Brad Fisher. I may receive a bigger box of materials, but I will not have Brad Fisher. I hope both Dean and Brad will support us in the transition.
