President Clinton and the U.S. Congress have managed to make a complete hash qf health care reform.
The consumers of health care have been left behind while health care providers, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and physicians, battle over the potential spoils.
We agree with Dr. William Young's opinion, expressed , in a Letter to the Editor last week, that the best solution would be a Canadian-style, single-provider system.
While Canada’s system may not be perfect, we doubt many Canadians would swap it for either the current U.S. system or any being proposed currently.
A system that requires employers to provide health insurance for employees puts American employers at a disadvantage in competing with companies in other Countries that don’t have that additional cost of labor. The cost of providing health insurance for employees is surely one of the main reasons more and more jobs are part-time with no benefits. ,k 1
