To the Editor:

Due the generous contributions of time by volunteers and donations by local merchants, the Rappahannock Rug-Rat Road Rally and FunFest was a great success. I

We had 26 cars, and over 60 participants! I was exceptionally pleased with the support we received in the community. This was a first time for an event of this type for CCLC. I hope the response that it elicited, bodes well for similar events in the future!

I would like to extend a personal thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and sponsors of the Rappahannock Rug-Rat Road Rally.

I had a great time working with Christine Keller, Tom Pendleton and Bruce Sloane in planning the route, and divising questions. I truly appreciate all the effort that they put into this fundraiser. Additional credit should go to Tom Pendleton for taking charge of the FunFest food planning and preparation. A special thank you also goes to Lisa Pendleton, Teresa Hudson, Craig Altenburg, Joy Sloane, Cady Soukup, Mike McSweeney, Tammy and Jeff Ehrhart for jumping into the fray and helping out as needed.

A most gracious thank you to Sheri Hamill-Huff for the pony and horse rides, and to PenDragon Dale for their valiant effort in trying to bring their draft horse.

Special thanks goes to The Inn at Little Washington, The Foster Harris House, and Blueridge Technologies for the top prizes. Heartfelt thanks to Four and Twenty Blackbirds, Faith Mountain, The Berry
