Some doubted if North could attract the support of this group because of his close ties to the Pat Robertson Christian Coalition that was instrumental in getting him the party nomination.
But Godwin came out for North even if in doing so he delivered less than a ringing endorsement.
“We have started a movement,” Godwin said. “I won’t call it a crusade, I’ll call is a spirited endeavor. . .Three of the four people who are running for the United States Senate are people I cannot vote for...that doesn’t leave anybody but him.”
The formation of the new group boosted the perception among political insiders that North has emerged as the frontrunner in the four way race and that the Coleman candidacy is fading fast.
