Last week the RCHS baseball team added a tie, a win and a loss to th6ir season record.
A game with Luray Monday proved exciting with a tied score of 7 to 7.:
Id the first inning Jon Butler was hit by a pitch. He then stole second. Japon Brown got a double, scoring Jon and earning an RBI.
I Carlos Cerecer started of the bottofn of the third with a single and w^nt to second base because of a passed ball. Jon Butler reached first base on an infield error. Jason Brown walked loading the bases. Willie Eastham’s single brought Carlos in. Jon Digges’s single brought Jon Butler in, and Griffin Ward’s single drove in Willie and Jon Digges.
The sixth inning was the last in which the Panthers scored. Jon Butler got a single and went to second on an attempted pick off that went wrong. Willie went to first base because of an error. Jon Digges singled and Jon Butler scored. Tommy Settle went to first on an error while Willie scored the seventh and final run.
Tommy Settle was the starting pitcher. Jon Digges relieved him in the third inning.
.On Tuesday the Panther squad got its first win beating George Mason at hotnq 3 to 1.
Jon Digges struck out nine Geqrge Mason batters, allowed only four hits and went the distance. “Not only was this our first win of the year, but it was Jon’s first high school victory, which was just as exciting for all of.us,” said Coach Donn Hackney. Jon Digges record improved to 1 and 2..
