There is little possibility that Sperryville has sufficient underground water supplies to support high capacity wells without potentially drying up other wells in the village.
That was the preliminary conclusion presented by John Rice of Ensat to the Planning Commission last Wednesday, based on a study of Sperry ville’s ground water done by the firm under contract with the planners.
The 25-page draft report presented to the planners was based partly on studies of logs provided by well-drillers for wells drilled in the study area since 1984. There were reports on 20 wells which produced between 0.25 and 60 gallons per minute with an average yield of 10 gallons per minute. In spite of that average, most of the wells yielded
