The two women whose bodies were found in Shenandoah National Park on June 1 may have been attacked by more than one person, according to the FBI.
The FBI released further information about the slayings. The womens’ wrists had been tied, and one woman was found in the tent and one outside the tent. It had been reported earlier that both bodies were found in the tent.
The women were probably killed on May 27 or later.
The FBI released the additional information prior to the crime being reported on Fox television’s show “America’s Most Wanted last Saturday evening. As a result of that show 51 tips were reported, but the crime remains unsolved. In all investigators have received over 500 leads and have followed up on them without finding a suspect or motive for the crime.

Numerous larcenies have been reported in the area of Crest Hill Road (Route 647) in Flint Hill near the Fauquier County line. According to Major Rick MacWelch of the Sheriffs Office, the most recent larceny reported was from Linda Cook who said that a lawnmower, weedeater and sprayer were taken from her shed on July 15. Major MacWelch is working with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office since there have been about 15 larcenies in Fauquier County which are probably related.
