oix ‘un ana Din graaers irom Spring Mountain School participated in the Waldorf Olympics in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on May 18.

Sixty children from five schools competed in the 200 yard dash, the 20 yard dash, the discus, the javelin, the long jump and wrestling. The event was patterned on the first Olympics in Greece and was the summary of the study • of Greek mythology and history. The students memorized poems ' that were a part of first “Olympics.” They spoke of winning with grace and losing with dignity. Every Spring Mountain .student completed each event and received a medal.

Gaelen Finney-Day came in ; first place in the 200 yard dash and , was a semi-finalist in wrestling, Representing the city-state of Athens. Whitney Craig was third in the discus throw, representing the city-state of Sparta. Sara Levin received an award for Beauty and Grace in the 200 yard dash as she
