Our community recently lost John Wayne Settle who was sell known and loved by his many friends and family. He will ever be remembered as a man who saw a need and filled it as only he could. May God be with his family.

Amissville Ruritans are currently selling ads for their District Convention directory for $25. The Convention is scheduled for the first Saturday in November.

The Amissville United Methodist Church will hold a yard sale to benefit the church’s renovation fund on Friday, September 20th, and Saturday, September 21st from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. both days. There will also be baked goods for sale! For more information, please call Mary at-347-0072.

The Amissville United Methodist are planning homecoming for Sunday, September 15 with the former pastor. Rev. Peter Weems speaking at 11 a.m. A covered dish luncheon will follow the service.

Revival begins on Sunday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. through Tuesday, September 17 with Rev. Earl S. Tyson speaking. Special music is planned for each service and nursery will be provided for children 5 years and under. Rev. Tyson will also hold a Prayer Breakfast on Monday, September 16, at 8 a.m. A Bible study will be held on Tuesday, September 17, at 10 a.m. followed by a light lunch. The pastor, Rev. Nancy B. White and the congregation invite you to join us in these celebrations.

Rev. Tyson was ordained and began his ministry in 1953 following his graduation from Richmond Theological Seminary. He served throughout the Virginia Conference until 1970 when he was appointed “Conference Evangelist” and has
