'In Search of Angels'

On Tuesday, September 17, the IRIS Centre for Shamanic Studies will present a video-discussion with guest discussion leader local portrait painter and illustrator, Ned Bittinger.

The video, “In Search of Angels,” explores the myth, meaning and! allure of angels, both in history and popular culture. Shot on location in; major cities, museums and art galleries of Europe and America, it features; centuries of compelling images of angels, clips from notable films, arrest-* ing visual effects and interviews with personalities prominently associated with angels today, including authors Sophy Burnham and David Connolly, playwright Tony Kushener and singer-songwriter Rickie Lee Jones. Beekeepers To Meet

The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association 'will hold its September meeting at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, the 19th at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building, at the comer of South West Street and Davis Street. The program will be early Fall management, fall requeening techniques, preparing bees for next Spring’s honey crop. All are welcome: prospective beekeepers, new beekeepers and experienced beekeepers. Benefit at Thistle Hill

Thistle Hill Bed and Breakfast in Boston, Virginia, will be hosting a “wine and cheese pairing” to benefit the Piedmont United Way and its 27 member agencies on Wednesday, September 11. The reception will be held at Thistle Hill at 5541 Sperryville Pike from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Guests are invited to sample the wines of Swedenburg Estate Vineyard and Ingleside Wineries, and cheese from The Bam at Pogest while enjoying the serene surroundings near the Blue Ridge Mountains.
