Thirteen hundred pints of blood was the quota assigned to the local chapter by the National Red Cross. Citizen responses at the bloodmobile resulted in the collectiqp, of 1,500 pints, or 200 over quota. National Red Cross headquarters in Washington has sent the local chapter a plaque signifying the accomplishment.
At the July annual board meeting, it was announced that, thanks to generous local contributions, the local Red Cross chapter, which has experienced financial difficulty in recent years, is now in a position to provide the full range of services on which the community depends.
