Local history will be made October 12 and 13 when for the first time in 30 years anglers will be permitted to fish the Warrenton Town Reservoir located on Blackwell Road | just north of Warrenton.

Titled by the Warrenton Foundation, organizers of the weekend event, as “The First-Ever Warrenton Reservoir Fabulous Fishout,” the tournament will limit entries to 250 fisherman and in addition to just about guaranteeing everyone their lawful limit of fish, will offer cash and other valuable prizes for the three biggest fish caught each day.

Tournament organizers have arranged for Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries people to perfoim an electroshock inventory in the coming weeks. But “Unnamed sources” have claimed that the 45 acre, 30 year-old lake is “loaded” with largemouth bass, crappie, blue gill, perch, catfish, etc. . . and could use a good thinning.
