Charlotte Hickerson of Amissville voted for. Bill Clinton in 1992, but as November's presidential election nears, she thinks she will vote for Republican Bob Dole. She believes Democrat Clinton has done a fairly good job as president, but she's bothered by "all the mud that has been stirred up — Whitewater, the FBI files, it's just one thing after another." - J4 *.
Peter White of Sperryville also voted for Clinton in 1992 and is standing by his man this year. He thinks the president "stumbled badly" during his first two years in the White House, but he credits Mr. Clinton with learning on the job and coping well with a Republican Congress. Republican Dole, he believes, is "living in the past" and is tied to a patty trying to take the country back to an era that can't be recaptured.
