Kilby thanked Mrs. Thomas L Eastham for coordinating the meeting and introduced guests of members plus Associate members of this chapter from the Fauquier Court House 'Chapter.
Mrs. Dale J. Metzinger, District VI Director, introduced the speaker, The . Virginia State Regent of the NSDAR ...Mrs. Stephen R. Hunter, whose subject for the afternoon was "DAR Pep Talk." When the DAR was founded in 1890, its three objectives were ^History, Education and Patriotism j with the motto being "God, Home and - Country" in that order. The objectives i were set forth in the DAR * Constitution, written over one hundred * years ago and have never been •; changed and it is the largest and oldest 1) patriotic organization for women in j the world. The most important key tc r the future is education — America - needs a knowledgeable citizenry and I the eradication of illiteracy must be * met.
