Panther Pride. Pride stands for Personal Responsibility In Daily Effort.

The goal of this program is to improve effort, conduct, absenteeism, and academic responsibility. It also gives us trust in ourselves sind increases school spirit. Panther Pride uses rewards to encourage students to do better work. Each time you qualify for Panther Pride you go up another "plateau" to a higher reward. With this it is a new experience to be in Panther Pride each time. The criteria for being involved in Panther Pride are:* No grade lower than a "C" on the report card • No more than one day of absence during the six weeks (this does not include school sponsored events); and • no referrals for discipline. You are given rewards at the end of the six-weeks if you qualify.

If you make Panther Pride for the first semester the awards include: Pride pins, academic letters, jackets, and academic patches. In order to qualify you must meet . the following criteria: • no grade lower than a ”C" on any report card, • no more than four days absence in the semester, • no referrals; and • be involved in a club, team or organization.

Some students will be encouraged by this new system, but I'm afraid that quite a few students, who don't already maintain these standards, will not change as a result of this program. In spite of > this, students do acknowledge the ft fact that the RCHS staff is hard at 5 work trying to find ways to make our days at this school more productive.

Another academic program we have at Rappahannock is the Rappahannock Scholars.

As parents and community members you should also try your best to show our staff how much you appreciate their valiant effort.
