Halloween Party Set

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a Halloween party at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at the fire hall. For more information contact Sheila Scott at 937-4357.

Education Committee To Meet

The Special Education Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Rappahannock County Elementary School, in the elementary conference room. Guest speaker will be Melody Hackney, who will discuss Alternative Education in general and describe the Regional Pilot Project for Community Alternative Education Services, a grant has recently been awarded and which includes Rappahannock County. Flexercise Class To Begin

A six-week series of flexercise classes will begin Thursday, Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Classes will be Thursdays and Mondays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the old Washington School. Class fee is $35. Beginners are welcomed. Call Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887 for more information.

Fun Day Planned

A family fun day will be held at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday, October 20.

The event will feature an open house, a film on wood stove safety, bake sale, cider, yard sale, crafts and lots of other fun filled activities. Pony rides will be available for children for a token which will obtained just by touring the new ambulance. Anyone wishing additional information or wanting to set up a table should contact Connie Huff-Harris at 6753389.

Silent Auction Scheduled

On Thursday, Oct. 17 from 3 to 8 p.m. the staff of the Rapport, the RCHS newspaper, will be sponsoring a silent auction. They hope to raise necessary funds for their publication. The students are hoping for support from the Rappahannock community as well as from parents coming for Parent-Teacher conferences, If you would like to make a donation to the auction, please contact Cindy Cumins at RCHS at 987-8575 or Patty Metcalfe at 675-3897.
