Across the state, many farmers were complaining that deer are damaging their crops costing them lots o£ money. n
As a result Virginia Tech has been conducting a survey to determine the extent of the damage. This will be the state's first comprehensive deer damage survey, although the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries put out an estimate of $1J million in damage in 1992.
