At last Wednesday's Town Council meeting the issue of painting lines on the roads was again the main source of controversy. '

Some members of council are apparently determined to prevent VDOT from painting white lines down the sides of the newly paved roads and yellow lines down the middles. Others are convinced the lines make the roads safer. VDOT meanwhile says it has no choice. Main Street, Middle Street and Warren Avenue are considered primary highways as Business 211, and the white and yellow lines are required.
