Congratulations to the SCA for a yery successful Homecoming Weekend. They made a profit of $400 which is being donated to charity to help needy families.
The SCA has some upcoming activities for the Holiday season. Among these is an Angel Tree for needy children. The SCA will also sponsor a Holiday assembly here at the school. With the Holiday festivities there will be a door decorating contest. SCA is now working on a school beautification program, which includes cleaning and fixing bulletin boards.
The SCA isn't the only organization sponsoring activities, there is also the National Honor Society. The NHS is sponsoring a Mardi Gras Dance from 8 to 11 p.m., on Nov. 22. They are also proud of the baby-sitting program which they have started. During an adult education class taught by our DARE instructor, members of NHS will watch the children of those attending the class. Other activities NHS plans to sponsor include cake raffles during the boys’ basketball and girls volleyball games and a tribute to Mr. Paul Nichols.
In addition to these club activities, the winter sport season has begun. Tryouts are complete and soon games will begin.
The athletes who participate in these sports have been anxiously awaiting the beginning of the season.
