rehearsing. Teacher Cindy Cumins had them practice breathing and speaking from deep down, rather than from their throats. She emphasized the importance of speaking so they can be understood and not swallowing their words.
She said they would have to practice particularly for the two voice poems so the timing would be perfect. In a few short minutes of practice improvement was very noticeable.
The subjects of the poems range from boy-girl relationships to other stresses of adolescent life and living close to nature.
The charge Tor Sunday evening's entertainment is $5 for adults and $2 for students.
