secondary roads, several predicted that will not happen. VDOT receives more funding for primary roads than secondary roads and will not want to give up those monies.

Former Mayor Peter Cramer attended the meeting specifically to address that issue. He said traffic coming into town on Main Street slows down when it reaches the end of the painted lines in front of the Middleton Inn. That makes the roads safer, he said.

Peter Skowronski said he had not noticed a similar situation on Harris Hollow road in front of his house. Traffic does not slow down approaching town, and he said not having the lines makes the roads less safe.
