The slab for the surge tank for the Sperryville sewer system was poured last Thursday, Daniel Keyser reported to the Water and Sewer Authority at their meeting that evening.
Mr. Keyser said the tank itself will be delivered in mid December. He also said he believed the project can be completed for $75,000 instead of the $110,000 the WSA is authorized to borrow from the state.
That should reduce the WSA’s annual payment to the state, he said.
Treasurer Carson Johnson reported that John Shipman is behind on payments he agreed to make "to 1ceep his property from being foreclosed for debts to the WSA. WSA members agreed to ask County Attorney Peter Luke to proceed to foreclosure unless Mr. Shipman makes the payments he owes.
