Member Ray Gooch said it would be worth the money to see George Washington riding in a carriage with Saint Nicholas.
Earlier that afternoon several members of the council and others from the area as the committee on the town's future had met with Mike Watkins and Colin Greene, representatives from Duany/Plater-Zyberk, architects and town planners. The visitors had taken a ride around town and then met with the futures committee and town residents for a roundtable discussion.
Topics included sewer, growth, parking, affordable housing, the tourist business and the asphalt ditches along some roads. The planners said everything could be worked out once the town decided how much it wants to grow.
Mr. Gooch, chairman of the committee. said the town could not afford an ongoing formal relationship with the firm but an informal relationship might be possible.
