Alumni Tournament Planned
The Rappahannock County High School Athletic Department will sponsor the 8th Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament on Friday, November 29th and Saturday, November 30th at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Any male who has graduated from Rappahannock County High School and is interested in playing the alumni tournament should call Kelly Settle at 987-8575 by Friday, Nov. 15.
Annual Christmas Dinner
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will serve its annual Christmas Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the fire hall. This special five-course holiday dinner will feature stuffed comish hen, wild rice and vegetables. Appetizer, soup, salad, desert and beverages are also included in the cost of the dinner. Advance reservations fro the dinner are $13 for adults. You may purchase tickets at the door ($14 for adults). Dinner for children twelve and under is $5. Beekeepers To Meet
The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its November meeting at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22, please note change from usual date at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building, at the corner'ot South West Street and Davis Street. The program will be: BeeSwax, a presentation given by George Kelly of Dadant and Spns. This is a fascinating look at beeswax. All are welcome: prospective beekeepers, new beekeepers and experienced beekeepers. For furthers information contact Ann Harman at 364-4660.
Parenting Training Sessions Set
Free training entitled, Effective Parenting of Teenagers is going on now and will continue for six sessions at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Each meeting will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and is open to the public. For more information and to register, call Valerie at 675-3313.
Moonlight Hike Up Old Rag
On Saturday, November 23rd there will be a moonlight hike up Old Rag Mountain sponsored by Hunt Harris of The Ragged Mountain Resource Center. Interested participants should meet at Mountainside Market on Route 211 west of Sperryville between 3:30 and 4 p.m., or meet at the upper lot of Old Rag off of Route 231 near Nethers. Benefit Bingo Scheduled
A benefit bingo for Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board’s Senior nutrition center in Rappahannock will be held on Nov. 30. Doors open at 4 p.m. with bingo at 6:30 p.m. There will be a guaranteed jackpot ot $1,000; $100 p^r regular game and $20 minimum admission.
Bingo will be held at Front Royal Moose Lodge, John Marshall Highway East in Front Royal.
