The Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals met Thursday to consider the application for a special use permit by Robert and Joan Herrema.

The Herremas were seeking approval to build a 1200 square foot, two bedroom, two bath family cottage for Mrs. Herrema’s parents, behind their home, located on Strothers Lane.

The Rappahannock Planning Commission recommended the application to the BZA for approval at their meeting on March 19.

Mr. and Mrs. Herrema were present at both meetings and answered all questions the Commission and the Board posed. In addition, neighbors of the Herremas wrote letters in support of the application.
