U.S. 522, .6 mile north of 641, when she swerved to avoid hitting a deer. According to Trooper Moore's accident report, Ms. Simmons hit an embankment on the left, bounced back and hit an embankment on the other side of the road. She was not charged or injured. The 1993 Chevy had $6000 damage.

Four complaints firom residents of Route 600 in Sperryville were received by the Sheriff’s Office the night of March 22. They were complaining about hearing gunshots, and after investigation, it was found that a group of Civil War re-enactors were active in the area. Major Rick Mac Welch of the Sheriff’s Office said they stopped when asked to.

On the morning of March 20 an accident with no injuries took place on Route 729, one mile north of U.S. 211. According to Virginia State Trooper S.M. Knick’s accident report, pickup trucks driven by David Merritt, 26, of Flint Hill and Samuel Alexander, 83, of Woodville, sideswiped each other. No one was charged in the accident, but the 1980 Chevy had $3000 damage and the 1986 Ford had $50 damage.
