The Lady Panthers took the field last Thursday to play their first home of the season. After losing a close game to Page County just six days before, the Lady Panthers were ready to capture their first win.
Starting pitcher Margo Haynes gave up three runs in the first inning, while walking four Luray batters. Shamita Fletcher came in to finish out the inning. Rappahannock came right back scoring 4 runs on RBI’s by Emily Taylor and Keirsten Kerr. After just one inning the score was 4-3 and remained close until the fifth inning.
In the fifth inning the Lady Panthers scored four runs. Meghan Fairbrother led off the inning drawing a walk and Haynes also got on base due to a Luray error. Fletcher then loaded the bases with a single. Cleanup hitter, Kylene Wolfe, hit a fly ball to fight field bringing in Fairbrother. Amy Freeborn loaded the
