Celebrating its 28th anniversary • year, the local six-county Community Concert Association will have a stunning 1997-98 subscription season. Five live professional attractions, all at 8 p.m., will be held at Culpeper County High School.
The first, A Celebration of World Dance with the Russian Seasons Dance Company of 30, will be Saturday, Sept 20. Next is Max Morath the Ragtime Man in a theatrical journey as pianist and humorist on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Larry O’Brien leads the renowned Glenn Miller Orchestra and vocalists in those sentimental 1940s arrangements on Sunday, Nov. 9. In a sensational centennial salute, we'll hear Gershwin at the Grand featuring acclaimed pianist David Allen Wehr on Friday, Feb. 13. The season closes with mezzo-soprano and raconteur, Brenda Boozer, on Ibesday, March 17,1998.
Admission to these concerts is by season subscription ticket only, the price for adults is $30 with a $3 earlybird discount if one joins by April 27. Those who have paid by that date may attend a free bonus concert the musical comedy “Bamum” with a cast of 140. This performance is at 3 p m. and passes will be given at 2:30 pm. to new subscribers.
