The father warned that everyone should treat wild animals as wild animals, and that they should report overly friendly wild animals to the Animal Warden by calling the Sheriff’s Office at 675-3331. He »aid that the most common rabid wild animals are skunks, raccoons, foxes and opossums.
Animal Warden Carl Menefee said that anyone in the area should be aware of the rabid skunk, and make sure that their pets have their rabies vaccinations. The house where the rabid skunk was found is located near the intersection of U.S. 522 and Route 729 in Flint Hill.
