4-H in Rappahannock County has had some great fun learning experiences this year! We have nine Share The Fun Talent Show acts representing Rappahannock at the district competition in April!
There was a great workshop on animal acupuncture with Dr. Joyce Hannan with the 4-H Small Animal Club. We learned how to cure an old dog of her aches and pains. It was neat seeing how precise the needles are placed for almost an instant cure.
The 4-H Junior Garden Club learned how to feed the birds this winter. Carolyn Emerick taught her club how to make different bird feeders for our feather friends. The Child Care and Learning Center After school 4-H Club made bird seed pictures. The Child Care and Learning Center Pre-K 4-H Cloveibud Club had a project on rabbits.
In February the 4-H Cooking and Crafts Club made attractive and tasty Valentine cookies. The Child Care and Learning Center 4-H After school Club made beautiful Mardi Gras mask with Mr. William Martin. What a great, creative event it was (look for them in the Farm Show this July!)
We had some great teenagers attend 4-H Camp Counselor Training Weekend at the 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal. They are now all ready to help with summer camps. There was a very exciting presentation workshop given by Mrs. Joan Proctor of Culpeper. She truly has the 4-H Spirit in her heart and gave the children attending this workshop the self esteem that they can do anything they put their mind to.
