The Rappahannock Lions Club is again preparing for their annual benefit auction to be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 at the Washington Fire Hall.
The Lions are asking for an new, used or “no longer needed” items that people might like to contribute. They cannot, however, accept food, clothing, mattresses and non-working appligfibes.
It is through the good will and cooperation of the citizens of Rappahannock and surrounding areas that this fund raiser has been such a success in the past.
All proceeds generated from this event are returned to the community in the form of assistance to the needy,
| Arts Fest Is
Being Planned

The RCES Arts Fest planning is underway. They need your help to make it a success. This year’s Arts Fest will be held from Tuesday, May 6 through Thursday, May 8.
They are looking for artists to donate a half day (or more) of their time on any of the days of Arts Fest. They need artists from 8:30 a.m. to noon or noon to 3 p.m. Areas they j would like to include this year are: photography, paper making, jewelry making, architecture, poetry, drama, cake decorating, art history, weaving, computer art, mask making, mixing colors, silk screening, graphic design, landscapes, face painting, storytelling, cartooning, music, and making instruments. If you are interested in working with students contact Amy Gubler at Rappahannock Elementary School at 987-8259 and leave a daytime phone number and a good time for her to call back.
