were the recently purchased PBS Civil War documentary, a set of three, valued at $150. Also missing was a video that had been donated to the library.
Mr. Shaffer has moved many of the videos to' a revolving stand near the front desk so they can keep a closer eye on them. He said he may have to go to a sy stem similar to the one used by video stores where only the boxes are left out, the videos kept in the workroom and people have to request videos and sign to take them out.
Roberta Anderson said she felt this episode is a sad commentary on society. Mr. Shaffer said he was surprised it happened here in Rappahannock. He said at the library where he previously worked it was necessary to keep everything under lock and key, and he doesn’t want to have to do that here but he may have to.
Mr. Shaffer is also reviewing the five-year plan and all the Board members were asked to review it.
