There clearly is a strong audience demand for good, live jazz at the Theatre. And this time, we will hear an all-jazz program from the Charlie Byrd Trio.

The concert on Sept. 7 will be by way of starting a mini-series of jazz at the Theatre: it will be followed by two later jazz concerts, one in October and one in December.

Chuck Redd, who plays vibes in the Charlie Byrd Trio, will return to the Theatre the following month, on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m., with his own Chuck Redd Quartet.

They will perform an evening of jazz classics and swing. Chuck last played at the Theatre several years ago, in a jazz ensemble from the Smithsonian.

Dixieland jazz will be featured in December, when the Joe Rinaldi Quintet comes to the Theatre for the first time. Their concert will
