Mr. and Mrs. Ulrich Maeyer of Sperryville will welcome a new “daughter” in August 1997 — Anne Sofie Skoubo Kristensen, a Youth For Understanding International Exchange student ! from Denmark. 1 Anne, who will be a stu( dent at Rappahannock County High School in Washington, will live with the Maeyer family for an academic year.
As a member of the Maeyer family, Anne will participate in all family activities, from vacations to household chores. While sharing the culture of Denmark with her host family and schoolmates, she will learn about U.S. culture.
YFU, established in 1951, is one of the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit international exchange organizations, dedicated to international understanding and world peace. About 4,000 U.S. families open their homes and hearts to YFU international students each year.
