Questions remain The Town Council and the Commi tee on the Future of the Town of Washington will host a discussion this Friday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. to “share Concerns for the future of the town.” All Rappahannock residents should be concerned and should attend. After reading the report made by the committee to the council and after looking over the county’s comprehensive plan a question arises. Why plan for the future of the town when the county already has? Or, better yet, why not enlist the aid of the county and work together to plan for the town’s future? Talking to the county about the issue of waste water has already come up. In fact, it has been suggested that a countywide study of the watershed be done. Another question that occurs after reading the report — why is an issue as important as the possible expansion of the town itself lumped together under the general category with tourism, housing and demographics? Considering the vocal opposition already express* anc1 the number of signatures on petitions against iev pansion of the town boundaries it seems obvious e possible expansion should have its own category. After ill, parking has its own category and the surveys done on it have found no problem there.
