Riverdance to be shown
Riverdance, a dance and ballard celebration of Irish culture will be shown as the last Friday-of-the-month video on July 25 at the Rappahannock Healing Arts at 7:30 p.m. “We’ve got air-conditioning, popcorn, and a great space” said an organizer. The cost is $3. For more information call 987-7204. The center is located in Sperryville.
Flint Hill carnival set
Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad will sponsor their annual carnival July 23-26.
Wednesday night will be Kid’s Night with1 rides at a special rate of $6 from 7 p.m. until closing. On Thursday evening there will be a barbecue chicken special and rides for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening will be $8
An Antique Car Group from Front Royal will be at the carnival on Thursday, July 24 from 7-9 p.m.
On Friday the parade will get underway at 7 p.m., featuring Miss Virginia. Barbecue chicken suppers will be available. The awarding of the prizes will be held on Saturday evening, first prize is a 1997 Ford pickup truck. Other prizes include a registered black Angus, dinner for two at The Inn at Washington, dinner for two at Four and Twenty in Flint Hill, two season tickets to Redskins games and other prizes.
Jenkins family reunion set
Family reunion of John H. (Johnnie) and Betty Jane (Janie) Jenkins will be held Aug. 3 at the Washington fire hall from 1 until 5 p.m. Bring food and drinks to share. All are invited.
Fundraiser rescheduled
The annual meeting and fund-raiser of the Rappahannock County Historical Society has been rescheduled from Aug. 8 to Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the home of the society’s president Doug Baumgardner.
