New booklet
on hiking out
A new booklet, Hikes to Waterfalls in Shenandoah National Park, is now available as a hiking guide to nine major waterfalls in the park.
Shenandoah National Park shelters beautiful waterfalls in its canyons and hollows, and the trails leading to them are among the most appealing in the park. With this booklet, you will have a clear map and point-by-point trail directions to each waterfall. The guide also features hiking tips, a chart giving information like starting points along Skyline Drive and waterfall heights, and an overview map of the park showing the general location of the falls.
The modestly-priced guide is published by the Shenandoah Natural History Association (SNHA), a non-profit organization established in 1950 to support park interpretive and educational programs. The guide can be purchased at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center (mile 4.6 on the Skyline Drive), the Byrd Visitor Center (mile 51 on the Skyline Drive), Loft Mountain Information Center (mile 79.5 on the Skyline Drive), and at entrance stations and concession facilities.
