Back by popular demand are the Shenandoah National Park Field Study Seminars. For the third consecutive year, these field studies will take a look at local and regional environmental issues.
Got a sinking feeling? Maybe you’re standing on a sinkhole. You’ll find out as you spend the day with a karst (limestone caves and sinkholes) specialist. Investigate the geology and ground water patterns of the local area to see how it affects you. Findings may both alarm and interest any renter or home owner.
If the idea of camping in Shenandoah National Park has always interested you but you’ve never actually tried it, this field study is for you. Park staff will lead an overnight camping trip for first time campers. Rangers will demonstrate and discuss different outdoor equipment while teaching minimum impact camping techniques in the park’s wilderness.
