The board signaled immediate support for what they considered maintenance activities (piano regulation and piano rollers) and took under advisement the boosters’ request for funds for accompanists ($3500) and acoustical shells ($6180).
•Peter Kreyling and Andy Platt of the Citizens’ Advisory Group discussed school expansion planning and the impact of low-growth projections in the county on such planning. Mr. Platt noted that facilities growth is mandated by programs, and would be neces- J sary if even if there were no population growth. Consideration will be given to public meetings on school expansion. ;
•Rappahannock High1 School student representative, Jami Gillis discussed high' school activities including student responses to questions about school lunches and school improvements.
•The Technical Advisory Committee recommended that a hybrid vocational program be developed, for example, the linking of journalism with website development. Dr. Gangel will investigate this possibility.
• March 29 and March 30, 1999 will be used as make up days for the snow days January 14 and 15.
•A cellular telephone company has approached Dr. Gangel regarding the possible use of school property for a cell phone tower.
•A greenhouse has been offered as a donation to the school system, and the offer will be evaluated.
