Three automobile accidents were reported in Rappahannock County over the past week, resulting in injuries to four persons and several thousand dollars in property damage.
• The most serious accident occurred at about 12:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, on Route 607 near Route 618 in the Woodville area.
A 1997 Ford van driven by Rebecca Metheny, 31, of Berryville, crested a hilltop across the centerline on the narrow road, colliding nearly head-on with a 1994 Nissan sedan driven by Amy Grigsby, 21, of Sperryville.
Both drivers were injured, and Grigsby had to be extricated from her wrecked vehicle by rescue personnel. Metheny was charged by State Trooper Gary Settle with failure to drive to the right of the center of the road. The van received an estimated $4000 in damages, and the sedan, $8000.
Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz, who was in the area at the time of the accident, assisted at the scene.
