lvuoi uuunesy or r.u. L/OTiey OUT-OF-THE-ATTIC: The above letter was written by Mrs. James M. (Mollie Ryan) Brown of Bronson, Va. (F.T. Valley) to her daughter, Mrs. Walter Rector at Conde, Va., Fauquier County, 100 years ago, Feb. 12, 1899. Mrs. Brown discusses the weather: On Friday morning 12 degrees below; Saturday morning 6 degrees below with only climbing to 6 above for the day. Snow was measured on a work bench, 16 inches however, it was believed to be more in other places. Certainly the spring like weather conditions early this week were different than 100 years ago. The late Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 27, 1846 and is the great grandmother of Rita Tupper of Washington, F.D. Coffey, Ann Fox and Billy Wayland, all of the Sperryville area.
