lucky, you might even see a black bear. Opposite the pond, across green grass and rough rock, runs a river. A large beaver pond spreads the river wider at the cabin. The beavers, though gone from this spot for over five years now, have left their mark.
The only people who use this land now are passers by who trek through it and into the park. The people who enter the park have little effect on the land itself. This entire section of the park, thousands of acres of beauty and perfection, is . considered a wilderness area and is protected from the harmful ways of the general public.
Even park rangers are restricted from talting certain things into the park. Some of the restricted things include: anything gas powered or motorized, anything that will change the natural order of the forest, anything foreign to the land. There are also restrictions on fishing, hunting and collecting of plants. „ In the past, about the time of the great depression, there were families living far into the mountains. These simple country people were forced by the government to leave their homes within the mountains when the government decided to create a park.
Now, there is a road at the foot of the mountains named the Resettlement Road, where many of the families were moved when they were made to leave their homes. Though these innocent victims were forced to leave their homes, their spirits still remain within the earth, and that is where I am beginning to find mine. It has given me so many memories and so many experiences from which to learn.
