Charlie Byrd and Chuck Redd will return to The Theatre at Washington on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m.
Legendary guitarist Charlie Byrd will be joined on vibes by Chuck IJedd. Besides performing- tvith Redd, Byrd is expected to play some classical and Brazilian solos for guitar.
Both musicians have performed at The Theatre in the past to enthusiastic crowds, and tickets for the upcoming concert are almost sold out.
Charlie Byrd learned the basics of guitar from his father and performed regularly with local bands in his native Virginia at an early age.
While in Paris during World War II, he heard the great gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, one of the founding fathers of the concept of jazz guitar.
