Robert and Addie Keyser purchased this property in 1938 and lived there with their five children until the death of Mr. Keyser. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Keyser moved to Washington with her small children.
While Mrs. Keyser lived on the Red Oak she carried mail in an old car, probably a Model T, from the Rock.Mills Post office/store to Woodville. Other neighboring landowners during the 1938 time frame were Will Griffith, Will Settle, Walter Wharton, Ash Wharton, Walter Burke; Howard Wharton, Willie Cloud, Oscar Wharton, Sam Wharton, Amon Wharton, and Robert Wharton. The Keyser home was adjacent to what was called “The Wharton Hollow.”
This Keyser get together was the fourth event held. Mrs. Addie Keyser who is 96 years old played “The Fox Chase” on her harmonica and danced a little for those attending.
Other entertainment was provided by Donald Keyser on the fiddle and Dude Settle and Daniel Keyser on guitars.
