Summer camps scheduled

TASC for Teens of Jeffersonton is organizing and leading two 2-week Canadian Wilderness Fishing Summer Camps to beautiful Northern Ontario for youth ages 10-17 on July 17-30 and Aug. 7-20. The trips will leave from Jeffersonton and include qualified and caring staff, complete instruction, round-trip transportation, meals, most camping equipment, cabin lodging, and motorboat. Amissville beauties sought

Contestants are being sought for the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company’s Queen ages 14-20; Junior Miss ages 8-13 and Little Miss, ages 3-7 for this year’s carnival which will run from June 23-26. The winner will be determined by who sells the most tickets. The ladies will ride in the parade Thursday evening and the winner will be crowned Friday night. Child Care workshop set

The Fauquier County Department of Social Services, Child Nutrition, Inc. and Virginia Cooperative Extension have teamed up to offer a workshop on Starting a Family Child Care Business. The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, June 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be at the Department of Social Services, 320 Hospital Drive, Warrenton.

If you have thought about caring for children in your home, this workshop will help you develop a plan to run a successful child care business. Participants will learn about resources available to them to ensure ongoing success in running a child care business. For information call Linda G.
