Approximately 240 streams in the state of Virginia are required to have an established TMDL by 2010. ' TMDL development for non point source pollution is the responsibility of the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). To ensure clean streams for generations to come, DCR and DEQ encourage involvement of local organizations, interested citizens, and landowners in the TMDL process.

For a more thorough explanation of TMDL, visit EPA’s TMDL web site at http://ww.epa.gov/OWOW/tmd 1/, or contact DEQ, 13901 Crown Court, Woodbridge, Va. 22193, 703-583-3828, or DCR, 203 Governor Street, Suite 206, Richmond, Va. 232192094, 804-786-2064.
