• RCHS Science teacher, Mr. Brion Patterson, reported that on Friday, May 21 RCHS Calculus and Physics students, along with Gifted and Talented students, participated in Calculus/Physics Day at Rung's Dominion Amusement Park. There were a variety of events that the students were involved in during the course of the day. The Calculus and Physics students participated in the following events: Pendulum Hurler, Tnwer of
Fermi Questions. Our students did exceptionally well in all of the categories, but especially well in Tower of Cards where they placed first, the Fermi Questions where they placed third. They received the second place trophy overall out of approximately 25 teams from as far away as North Carolina. Way to go, Rappahannock!
• Not only did the students get to participate in these competitive events, they were also required to analyze a ride of their choice such as The Volcano, the Anaconda, and the Sky Flier. The G&T students were treated to a lecture by Mr. Steve Thorton of the University of Virginia.
