A proposed county budget totaling $1,328,061.72 will be acted upon next Thursday by the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors at the June meeting. The budget is for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1974. The proposed budget is an increase ov4r last year by $106,428.93. As always, schools require the greatest portion of the tax dollars, and though the proposed school budget has already been trimmed, there is still an increase of $69,467. Tom Taylor, who has been an outstanding participant in cross country and track at RCHS also excelled in sportsmanship and was awarded a trophy for this admirable quality at the sports awards banquet held Monday evening at Holiday Inn, Culpeper. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Taylor of Sperryville. The Trail Riders of Rappahannock sponsored a 35 mile competitive trail ride last weekend from Tommy Eastham’s Rucker Farm at Flint Hill. Representing Rappahannock County was Joan Welch of Flint Hill riding her quarter-thoroughbred cross, Mr. Bo Jangles.
